The RSPB Central London Local Group offers a programme of indoor evening meetings (held in the Knightsbridge area) with illustrated talks on a variety of topics including birding, conservation and general natural history interest. We have birdwatching field trips to many coastal and countryside sites, and we also organise occasional weekends away. All our members receive a copy of our twice-yearly newsletter. We are a friendly group with around 300 members who range from complete beginner to experienced birdwatcher and most of us live or work in London. Our Group is one of many RSPB local groups throughout the UK.
The aim of the group is to promote an interest in and understanding of birds and their habitats and environment and to support the activities of the RSPB. For a small annual subscription our members receive a programme leaflet for the year and a twice-yearly newsletter reporting on our group's recent and forthcoming activities. Our coach outings and indoor meetings are self-financing. Money from our fundraising activities and profits from our events go toward supporting the work of the RSPB and its international partners.
Everyone is welcome at our events, including visitors and non-members. Please feel free to turn up at one of our indoor meetings, or any of our trips except the ones that involve coach booking - for these, it is better to check first to see if there are any seats available.
Read our other pages for more information on the RSPB Central London Local Group and its activities. If you have any questions, or would like to receive written information, including a free admission to one indoor meeting and a form for booking coach outings, please either telephone our Membership Secretary on (020) 7359 0584, or e-mail us. We can also send you an application form for joining the RSPB if you are not yet a member.
